Royal Logistic Corps (RLC)

The Royal Logistic Corps was formed in 1993 by the amalgamation of officers and soldiers from the Royal Corps of Transport, Royal Army Ordnance Corps, Royal Pioneer Corps, Army Catering Corps and the Royal Engineers Postal and Courier Service.

The RLC is the youngest Corps in the Army, but since its formation in 1993, has been the largest Corps in the Army.

The Royal Logistic Corps, as its name indicates, is responsible for virtually every logistical requirement of the modern Army, on a worldwide basis. This requirement includes the provision of cooks to nearly all units in the Army, the movement of military personnel both at home and overseas, re-supply, air dispatch, rail and maritime transport, explosive ordnance disposal and the provision of the Army’s postal and courier service and pioneer labour support.
