Overseas Applications To Join the Royal Air Force

OVERSEAS APPLICATIONS TO JOIN THE ROYAL AIR FORCE

It is possible to join the Royal Air Force as an overseas applicant when making an application to enter as either a Commissioned Officer or one of the Aircrew or Groundcrew categories, however, there are strict criteria applied for all such applications.
Overseas applicants wishing to join the Royal Air Force in one of the Airman Ground Trades can only apply by making an enquiry, in person, at any RAF Careers Office in the United Kingdom.

More information regarding what the Royal Air Force can offer potential recruits can be found at:

www.raf.mod.uk

Applications from Ireland and Commonwealth countries are readily accepted, but in some cases the requirement to have lived in the United Kingdom for 5 consecutive years may be applied.

In order to determine your eligibility to join the Royal Air Force as an Oversea Applicant you should contact the Directorate of Recruitment at the following address:

Directorate of Recruitment (Royal Air Force),
PO Box 100,
Royal Air Force College Cranwell,
SLEAFORD,
Lincolnshire
NG34 8GZ,
United Kingdom.

The Directorate of Recruitment can also be contacted on the following e-mail address:

Cranwell-overseas-enquiries@careers.raf.mod.uk

When contacting the Directorate of Recruitment you should enclose copies of the following documents:

• Birth Certificate.
• Bio-data page of your passport.
ALL educational qualifications.
• Details of any studies currently being undertaken.
• Brief personal history. This MUST include full details of addresses you have lived at for the previous 10 years.
• Your parents Nationality details.
• Your chosen career path in the Royal Air Force.

It is possible that part of the selection process and preliminary stages of your application could be completed in your country of residence. It would be necessary for you to travel to the United Kingdom for the final part of your selection to join the Royal Air Force. It is not an indication that you will be accepted into the Royal Air Force when invited to complete the selection phase.

Travel to the United Kingdom and all other expenses incurred as part of the selection process to join the Royal Air Force are to be met by the applicant.

Omargaye, if you read properly you'll see that this page is for the RAF not the ARMY! You need better observational skills than that for the Army...
