HMForces' Top 11 Reasons to Date A Woman in the Armed Forces

Don't Mess with these Women

December 09, 2008

Time for a bit of cheese – you’ve probably seen other lists giving dubious reasons to date a police officer, traffic warden, Doctor, Nurse, Fire-fighter. An endless list, almost. A lot of folk have a compunction for someone in a uniform but what about this one? There’s plenty out there about men but what about women?

Here are the real reasons, as approved by soldiers and their partners – probably!

1) They can fire their weapons just as good as yours

2) They know how to clean a rifle

3) …so they are able to clean yours

4) They can teach you how to iron your clothes properly

5) They can give you the kiss of (your) life

6) Your boss has to believe it when they call to say you are ill

7) You can feel safe at night if you sleep with a woman in the armed forces

8) They are very sociable so they’ll get on with your mates

9) They know first aid so can take care of you when you’re dying of manflu

10) They are good at taking orders

11) … and good at giving them!

Have you seen our 10 Reasons to Join the Armed Forces? 10 straightforward tips to allow you to evaluate why you may want to join up and sign on that dotted line, and suggestions on how to prepare yourself before considering a career in the British Armed Forces.

In my 15 years in the Armed Forces, the female contingent were either absolutely brilliant or absolutely useless. Most were in the latter category!

The saying goes always look at the mother before you commit to the girl, well my girl's mother was a sergeant and at the age of 8O she still had great legs and a strong will to survive, my girl now 3O years since i married her is of the same fine strong attitude instilled in her from her mother who sadley has moved on to pastures new, and is probably looking down on us all now as we soldier on in life.
