    Hi Tankieboy,

If you join the Reserves and are sent out on det you will be paid the normal salary that a full time serviceman earns while you are working under the MOD, you will also earn while on excercise, training or any otyher form of duty. Hope this helps.

Hi Allbad1980, as long as you fit the required criteria theres nothign stopping youf rom applying and hopefully joining again, after 9 eyars you may be required to go through the full basic training again. The firsts tep tot ake is to py a visit to your local AFCO and speak tot hem about the trade you would like and what you must do to re-join, all the best!

    Hi Dannybags,

Dependingon your service, trade and the service requirements you may ask to be posted abroad at a permenant operating base, common postings are Cyprus and Gribraltar and Germany ther eare also tours available at a large number of different areas from Afghan to Iraq, Nevada, New Zealand, Canada, Falklands, Oman, the list goes on.

    Hope this helps!

Yes you certainly can - you'll have a medical before you join up just to check your lungs are fine. If you feel you can run the BFT in under 12 mins you should be fine. Nevertheless, everyone should always work on their fitness.
