Prior to 2008 DSF held the rank of Brigadier but with recognition of the increased size of the Directorate he now holds the rank of Major General. The task of UKSF is to provide a unified command structure for all UK Special Forces.
The following units come under the control of UKSF. See the following sections for more details on each unit and what they specialise in:

The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)

Not one to be fussy, but why under Hispanic Grants the main photo(top left)does it say members in Africa WW2 ? me thinks that lies. please correct me if im wrong.

You have provided us with many useful links. I have always wanted to join the army. One of my dreams was the UKSF. I have always wondered as to what Footwear etc. would they be wearing when they go on for mission. Are these boots they wear available for us to purchase? Thanks for the article.

No they're not SF - they are trained Pilots from one of the RAF training schools. But that doesn't included UKSF Aviation.

Do say if im wrong but arnt the piolts of the Army Air Corps SF as well????
