Step 3: Choose The Right Path

Regular Reserves – Army

Members of the Regular Army remain liable to be recalled in times of need after they leave the Army and they are referred to as the Regular Reserve.

For example, around 420 Regular Reservists were called-up for service in Iraq in 2003, and a number are currently serving in Afghanistan and the Balkans.

People stay in the Regular Reserve for different lengths of time depending on the length of their Regular service, age, sex and other factors such as current employment and family commitments and even personal health.

Needless to say, health needs to be kept up. Reservists don’t need to be super fit, it just means being able to carry out your full duties if called up or volunteering. In either case, your health is the reservists responsibility, unless hit my illness.

You’ve got to keep up at least an acceptable level of fitness for the reserves…

The Regular Reserve is divided into two categories, Sections A and D. Section A is compulsory whereas Section D is voluntary and TA soldiers with specific employment qualifications are eligible to join Section D on completion of their TA service.

Otherwise if you’re overweight you should ‘beast yourself’ as is commonly known…
