RA, Pirbright Start dates 2010

Posted about 1 year ago Hi. After months of being kept in the dark about 2010 start dates for RA at Pirbright, my AFCO have finally said, yup...it's September at the earliest! And that, is if you got an A Grade. I got a high B. I left the RAF Regiment Nov 2008 to go Gunner OP, RA. Took a whole year to get 203 through from RAF and to get selection. Now, I'm staring down the barrel of another year. Was 27 when I put my re-muster in. Turned 29 yesterday. Im not worried about my fitness. I keep on top of it. However, one can't ignore the obvious. I have mates in the same boat and I know everyone going RA is bricking it right now. Me and my mate are looking into the possibility of re-trading on the paperwork at our ACIO's and reverting to our original job choice when we're well into basics. I know it's been done before but just how viable is this option at the moment? If it IS an option, does anybody in recruitment on this site have a) any advice; b) other Pirbright trades and their relative 2010 start dates and; c) Any other advice what-so-ever? I know recruitment is a mess right now and it's me that put myself here. Not looking for anybody to blame. Just some good, honest, gospel, productive advice. Thanks a lot for reading guys. R

| Posted about 1 year ago Yo.
Spoke to a recruiter in the know and anything before September 13th seems inaccurate. Believe me, I wish it wasn't but all A Grade selectees are to be loaded on this date. If ANY positions are left, very high B Grades will be loaded too. Goes on IDST score. By all means, if anybody has any intel suggesting otherwise, would be great to hear it as I've already been waiting 1 year since re-joining application. Cheers. |
