If the police say he wasn't, then I'd say he wasn't.

Hi XDDX,

First of all, I cannot fully understand how you must be feeling at the moment, although I can empathise with the frustration and anger you must be experiencing.

I would advise you though, to let the Police do their job, and any information you do find to only be used for your own 'peace of mind' so to speak - and not to make the situation any worse for you or your daughter!

There is a cost to find out information on this website - (UK Records Database Hub)

http://ukrecordshub.com/military.php?type=Military

Although, the Ministry of Defence may be your best bet, but considering the circumstances - you may need a Freedom of Information Request..

Your daughters welfare must be of top concern - The Police must have assigned her an officer, or a witness care assistant, who you should talk any of your concerns and plans through properly with.

A Witness Care Assistant, is an Assistant Officer who Cares for Witnesses - deals with their worries, concerns, talks them through PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) procedure before passing case to Crown Prosecutors (CPS), to see if the Crown will pass the case to be heard in court..

A Family Liaison Officer, is near enough the same as mentioned above, but normally specialises in Child Protection, and liaises with the family on all matters concerning the inintial complaint (report) made to police.

From what you say - It doesn't appear that getting the information from the link i gave you would be of any help to you anyway..

If thats what you really think - then your only option is to employ the services of a Solicitor, which in a case like this would cost anything up to 400 pound an hour that you would be liable to pay, and make it a 'Civil' case alongside the (i assume) already running 'Criminal' rape case..

There is no more help i can give you on this matter...

I hope your daughter is ok - and wish you the best of luck!

Can I ask why it is important for you to know if he was in marines or not Xddx? PM if you want.

Seems a shame you haven't had any support re: your daughter, something I think you should definetly chase up, for both of you.

Your Husband has apparently carried out the most vile abuse both physically and mentally of both you and your daughter. The fact that he may have lied to you about aspects of his life prior to these abuse should come as no surprise to you. whether he was a member of the armed forces or not is almost irrelevant to this case. He has betrayed you in the worse possible way , any other betrayals along the way pail into insignificance compared to the main abuses.

Please follow the advise by paycop and push your local police authority to do everything in their power to bring a conviction, however long and painful this path maybe,

Concentrate on keeping you and your daughter together and remember that you are responsible ONLY for your action and of no one else's.

take care and good luck with the future.
