Maybe they assumed it was your best suit and you needed one on each lapel. Must have been an ex CQMS that sent them to you. :p |

| Posted about 1 year ago Not wishing to offend anyone, but my opinion of the Veterans Badge is pretty low. The only requirement to fit the criteria is that the applicant has served in HM Forces [Regular or TA]. There is no information required about how honourable that service was which means that even those who are' kicked out' dishonourably are entitled to the badge. Personally, although I served for 25 years, I do not consider myself a veteran. I am an ex serviceman of the cold war and a few NI tours. Those who have served in NI,[multiple tours] Falklands, Gulf and Afghanistan operations, they are the true VETERANS. The issue of a Veterans Badge by the Government is nothing more than a cock eyed, half hearted attempt just to be seen to be doing something to recognise the service of our Armed Forces. I think you are being modest mate, you said you did a "few" N.I. tours yourself, that alone would qualify you in my opinion! As for " is nothing more than a cock eyed, half hearted attempt just to be seen to be doing something to recognise the service of our Armed Forces", I believe they came up with this badge idea after they were pressured to issue a proper medal to all those that had served, thats obviously how much we mean to them!

| Posted about 1 year ago Got mine too. Was only a couple of weeks. Found a page here with info on how to get it: http://www.hmforces.co.uk/benefits/articles/2918-hm-armed-forces-ve... It takes three years to build a ship, three hundred to build a tradition. |
