8 Things You Should Not Do In Basic Training

You don’t get to choose your instructors in basic and we can end up with a wide range of characters who can make or break you.
Some will be demanding and have us running around in circles while other instructors will be the complete opposite.
Once in you may instantly connect with certain other recruits because they remind you of our friends and family or because you can empathise with them over certain issues.
All recruits are a priority for the instructors whom want to see you get through the intensive training programme and should be treated with the same respect as you would want to be treated yourselves. However don’t expect to be treated equally by your instructors… they will pressure you to make you fail but having good friends close by will make the ride better and easier. You’ll realise that you are becoming part of a large extended family and will depend on your mates through thick and thin.
To help you if you’re making that trip inside, HMForces.co.uk have come up with 8 things you should never do in basic.

I dropped my riffle during drill, that's something you should never do in basic training. I had to run around the parade square with my riffle above my head and shout "I must not drop my riffle". While the others carried on with drill. Then I had to do sit ups and pull ups. OOOOHHHH happy days.

LOL check the breach. Thats something we all had to do before the rifle captain back in uni would allow us to put the rifle back down. Also check the magazine slot

I remember the growbags well. 'Sorry' doesn't do anything in the forces, it shows weakness.
